Native Americans were probably responsible for a lot of the evolution of the canoe over the last 7 or 800 years …those classic high bow points that you think of when you picture a huge Mohican 10 man canoe. . . This model captures that classic cut more closely than any other attempt I’ve seen. The ends are hand laced with 50 loops of leather lacing, and the thin gunwale strips and ribs are birch bark as well. The reddish wooden seat and inner gunwale supports are the only ’wood’ in the construction. The length is 17" and the width 4.5"
